Grażyna Tarkowska was born in Toruń but lives in Częstochowa, in southern Poland (the Polish Jura). She graduated from the Institute of Artistic Education at the Higher Pedagogical School in Częstochowa (currently the Jan Długosz University of Humanities and Natural Sciences). She received a degree in graphic arts under the supervision of Professor Ryszard Osadczy. She is a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists. Her work includes graphic arts, drawing, and designing applied art, but her primary field of artistic activity is painting. She paints on canvas using acrylic and oil paints but also uses pastels. She regularly participates in various plein-air painting workshops. Grażyna is a loyal participant in the traditional Jurassic Plein-Air Workshops held in the Polish Jura (a unique limestone region in southern Poland). She coordinated one of these workshops, as well as one of the Urban Plein-Air Workshops held in Częstochowa. Grażyna Tarkowska has participated in over one hundred group and solo exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Her works have been exhibited at international art fairs in New York, Dubai, and Beijing. For her achievements in painting, she has received several prestigious awards: "Artists at the Jubilee" (Rome, December 21, 2024); "Artist of the Year 2025" (Florence, January 25, 2025); "The Great Masters in New York" (New York, April 4, 2025), "Universal Artists" (Milan, June 7, 2025) and “Artists on the French Riviera (Nice, September 12, 2025. In addition to her own work, Grażyna Tarkowska is also a teacher. She teaches art at two primary schools. Her pupils regularly win awards and distinctions in local and international art competitions.
