This work was born from the night of my exile. Five years ago armed men forced me to flee. I saved my family, but four of my dogs were killed. What remained is memory - an open wound that became painting. The canvas shows the reflection of my abandoned home in Russia, seen in the dark pond of that night. Above the water I placed nineteen stars, both a memory of 2019 when it happened and the number of the traveler in Kabbalah.nnNow I live in exile in France, under a clear sky, and the reflection of that house returns as both wound and vision. The small white inverted dog at the center stands as a silent witness.nnAs an artist I paint without sketches, working alla prima until the revelation is complete. I am ambidextrous and experience synesthesia: for me every color carries sound and scent, every tone has a pulse. Grey is never grey, black is never black - they open into hidden spectrums. This perception transforms my work into thresholds where memory, loss and light coexist.nnThe Ghost of My House is not only personal testimony but also a meditation on exile, violence and resilience. It carries both a private wound and a universal echo of fragility that speaks to all who have lost a home.
